    Frequently Asked Questions

    Is JAMNOLA worth it?

If you want a hands-on taste of New Orleans culture in about an hour, yes. You'll walk through 30 exhibits made by more than 100 local artists, covering Mardi Gras, brass bands, crawfish and more, with storytellers on site to share the history behind them. It's air-conditioned, which makes it an easy break from the heat or rain between Frenchmen Street music and food.

How long does it take to go through JAMNOLA?

Most guests spend 45 to 60 minutes. If you do the scavenger hunt and use the app's deep dives on each exhibit, plan on 90 minutes to 2 hours.

    Is JAMNOLA fun for adults?

Yes. JAMNOLA is for all ages, and there's an adult scavenger hunt. The on-site storytellers adjust what they share to the group in front of them. For private parties, JAMNOLA offers a mobile bar, and every so often it hosts "JAMNOLA at Night" parties with DJs and live music. Plan a private event at JAMNOLA.

    Is JAMNOLA like Meow Wolf?

It's a similar idea: walk-through rooms of immersive, photo-ready art. JAMNOLA is smaller, and there's no sci-fi storyline. Every room celebrates New Orleans culture instead. Watch a Meow Wolf fan's video review of JAMNOLA on YouTube.

    Is JAMNOLA good for kids?

Yes. There's a kids' scavenger hunt, children under 3 get in free, and the space is stroller-friendly and wheelchair accessible.

    Is JAMNOLA still a pop-up?

No. JAMNOLA opened in 2020 as a pop-up on Royal Street and moved to its permanent home at 940 Frenchmen Street in 2025.

Can I visit the gift shop without a ticket?

Yes. The JAM Shoppe has its own entrance, so you can shop without buying a ticket. Everything is also available online.
